Women Artists at Yale

Event description: 

This exhibition and accompanying publication will showcase and celebrate the remarkable achievements in the visual arts of an impressive roster of women artists who have graduated from Yale over the past 150 years. Both the exhibition and catalogue will be drawn entirely from the collection of the Yale University Art Gallery, which includes works by women artists as far back as Josephine Miles Lewis, the very first student—not just female student—awarded a bachelor of fine arts degree, in 1891. The project will feature the work of approximately 80 artist-graduates, working in diverse media (such as painting, sculpture, drawing, watercolor, print, collage, photography, and time-based media), including:
