In Celebration: 150 Years of Women at Yale

The 50WomenAtYale150 anniversary year—September 2019 to November 2020—is now in full swing! This past September, a banner weekend commemorating the 50th anniversary of coeducation in Yale College kicked off the year. It was an auspicious start, followed by an array of activities—public talks, academic gatherings, museum exhibitions, concerts, and performances, on the Yale campus and beyond—that illuminate the history of women at Yale and honor Yale women from across all the university’s programs and schools.

And there’s much more to come! We hope you will take advantage of upcoming opportunities to celebrate the women of Yale and their extraordinary contributions to the university. A wealth of anniversary programming will be available throughout the year: please check the 50WomenAtYale150 events calendar regularly for updates.

Coming on November 6 and 7, 2020

As we pivot to the 2020 spring semester, planning is already well underway for the culminating weekend that will cap this remarkable anniversary year. On November 6 and 7, 2020, women from all Yale’s schools will assemble in New Haven for a grand finale to the 50WomenAtYale150 anniversary celebrations.

“In Celebration: 150 Years of Women at Yale” will be a chance for a wide cross-section of alumnae to come together to mark this exceptional milestone for women at the university and reflect on our contributions to Yale and the world. It’s an occasion to celebrate and be inspired: during the weekend we will probe pressing issues through thoughtful conversation, foster connections across alumnae groups, and explore the “unfinished agenda” for women in society. It promises to be a memorable weekend.
