As part of 50WomenAtYale150 this year, Angela Barron McBride ’64 MSN, PhD, RN, FAAN will speak on the nursing leadership required to improve health in the US and around the world, at the annual Sybil Palmer Bellos Lecture with a reception to follow. Dr. McBride has served as a Dean, President of Sigma Theta Tau International and of the American Academy of Nursing, and is an AAN “Living Legend”. Her award-winning book, Growth and Development of Nurse Leaders, is in its second expanded edition (2020).

As part of the 50WomenAtYale150 celebration and to open the Center’s exhibition Art in Focus: Women From the Center, the artist Rina Banerjee, Yale MFA 1995, will speak to why art is essentially why we feel human. In this lecture, entitled “Irresistible Earth,” Banerjee will reflect on how making and seeing art gives life meaning. This event will be live-streamed.
