Performances & Exhibitions Committee

The charge of this Committee is to identify, engage and encourage campus partners to participate in the 150th and 50th commemorations in 2019-2020 with performances, lectures and/or exhibitions. We hope these events will capitalize on existing programming to feature or highlight the history of Yale women and their talents, skills, creativity, influence and leadership. The Committee is committed to ensuring that a diverse array of groups are invited to contribute to the celebration and will suggest ways to publicize the events so the ‘sum is greater than the parts.’

Committee for the 50 Women at Yale 150 Celebration Weekend

The 50 Women at Yale 150 Celebration will conclude with a major gathering for all Yale women on the University campus, November 6-7, 2020. This culminating weekend will celebrate the 150th anniversary of women students at Yale and the 50th anniversary of women in Yale College, and will welcome women graduates of all Yale’s schools back to campus for an inspiring series of panels, exhibitions, and performances that highlight women’s contributions to Yale and to the world. The gathering will also provide an important opportunity to examine the work that still must be done to help women, at home and around the globe.

This committee is co-chaired by Ellen McGinnis ’82, former Chair of the Board of Governors of the YAA and Sheryl Negash ’82, co-chair of the YAA Task Force on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
